MIKE

Some vintage Mike Vallely promos back in the vegan days and pre-tatts (late 80’s) (the last one is such a weird shot… not sure what they were thinking.) I’m doing to drawing on the back grounds during the titles of the film. so it kinda looks like Trip’s drawing s on the wall. Should look good, fingers Xed! Trip and i have more and more in common everyday. 😀

Coraline B-roll

The more behind the scenes stuff you see from Laika the more your mind is blown! It’s unreal what these guys can do. I can’t wait to see Box Trolls, their next film. Unfortunately I can’t embed the video, but follow the link below it’s incredible!

Susan Young

Last week Susan Yong gave a lecture at college. I really love her fluid and imaginative animations, we are so lucky to have her talk in depth about her process. She is such an interesting person too, she’s doing some really brilliant research at the Royal College at the moment about animation as therapy.

She’s from the Valley, he’s not…

ValleyGirl

I finally watched the whole of this movie Valley Girl, about Nic Cage, a major cornchip (a “punk” from Hollywood) and this pastel pink betty from the Valley. Naturally there’s more than the literal mountain range that they’ve got to overcome to be together. The plot holes are so 80’s, and the music ranges from kickin’ New Wave to the truly bogus Josie Cotton. With totally tubular lines like “fuck you for sure” and “Bitchin’ is this movie in 3D?”… “No, but your face is”   you gotta see this movie!
