(It’s My Life. Performed by No Doubt. Directed by David LaChapelle. References to Whatever Happened to Baby Jane… et alia)
Inspiration for the mood and the characters. I’ve been looking back at some of my favourite films and music videos that contain some of the themes I’m thinking about, especially the strong references to an ‘old Hollywood’ feel.
I’ve been working on some lip-sync to Death Becomes Her. It’s one of my favourite films. It’s just so funny. I think seeing that as a child really shaped my imagination and humour, it was one of the few non-animated films I would actually sit through. I love Goldie’s voice, she doesn’t get on my nerves even when I hear it on repeat. I also think American dialogue is easier to sync. Is that possible? …“Divorce? In California? That’s exactly what she wants you to do!”
